A 30-Day Digital Detox Experiment
Reclaim your attention.
Reclaim your energy.
Reclaim your summer.
Our attention has quietly become one of our most valuable resources.
Every notification, every scroll, every game, every headline asks for a little piece of it.
This isn’t about rejecting technology.
It’s about becoming more intentional with it.
This 30-day experiment is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and rediscover what life feels like when your attention belongs to you.
One month of awareness.
A lifetime of intention.

Why I’m Doing This Again
Last year I stepped away from social media for ten days while on vacation in Colorado.
I expected a break from my phone.
What I found was much bigger.
The hardest part wasn’t leaving.
It was realizing I didn’t want to come back the same way.
This year I’m taking the experiment further—not because technology is bad, but because I want to become more intentional with how I spend my attention.
Attention is upstream from so many other forms of sovereignty.
When we reclaim our attention, everything else becomes easier to reclaim too.
My 30-Day Rhythm

Days 1–10
Reduce
Turn down the volume – during this period I’m setting boundaries with digital wellness – see video below! I’m also paying attention to time spent on screens, attempting to leave my phone behind on walks and other adventures, and generally getting back to life without screens, best I can.
Days 11–20
Detach
Create space – This is where the fun is. This is removing apps, stepping away from socials for an extended period, cultivating new habits in the open time and space, and journaling the tugs at my attention.
Days 21–30
Discover
Notice what deserves to return – the hardest part for me was coming back. This year I intend to set better boundaries, clear goals, and ways to maintain the silence amidst the noise.

My Daily Questions
Before I pick up my phone…
I ask…
Does this turn the volume up…
…or down?
Does this raise the vibration…
…or lower it?
Is this worthy of my time?
Is this mine to carry?
Am I walking the bridge…
…or studying it?
This isn’t about perfection.
Some days you’ll scroll too much.
Some days you’ll forget.
Some days you’ll lose an hour to Solitaire.
(Ask me how I know. 😄)
This isn’t about guilt.
It’s about awareness.
Because awareness creates choice.
And choice creates freedom.
Here’s to reclaiming a little more of our attention…
…and a little more of our summer.
Do this anytime it feels fitting, once a year, once a season, once a month.
Or come back next July. We’ll see what we’ve learned together.
