Introducing “Building a Meditation Practice” at the Yoga Loft

Have you ever tried to meditate and felt like your mind just wouldn’t stop? You’re not alone. Most people struggle to quiet the chatter, and too often they give up before they even begin. That’s why I’ve designed a meditation series that starts small, builds gently, and gives you the tools to actually enjoy the process of calming your mind.

Beginning Wednesday, October 15th, I’ll be leading a 9-week series at the Yoga Loft on Main in Rogersville called Building a Meditation Practice. Each session is about 45 minutes, but instead of jumping into long silences right away, we’ll begin with shorter 5–8 minute practices. This way, you can ease into meditation, explore different styles, and learn how to navigate the blocks that naturally arise.

Together, we’ll practice techniques like:

  • Breathwork (Prana Breath, Box Breath)
  • Heart-centered meditation (Heart Space, Metta Bhavana)
  • Chakra and aura awareness
  • Visualization practices (Future Self, Quantum Jumping, Crystal Cave)
  • Walking and nature meditation

Along the way, we’ll talk about what comes up — the distractions, the restless body, the busy thoughts — and learn how to work with them instead of fighting against them. Meditation isn’t about “doing it right,” it’s about showing up with curiosity, compassion, and consistency.

Whether you’re brand new to meditation or looking to deepen your practice, this series will help you build a strong foundation. You’ll also learn about props, postures, and simple tools (like crystals, sound, and mantras) that can support your journey.
